The neighbor girl isn’t eating again. She tapes quarters to her belt to tip the scale and satisfy her stern mother—she thinks of everything.
This is so sad. My daughter was telling us last night about some of the things she learned about eating disorders in last semester’s personal nutrition course and in this semester’s human biology class. I feel the girl’s pain here. And also the mother’s.
What an interesting way to illustrate the tragedy of this girl’s situation.
Good way of bringing to light the issue of eating disorders and how they are a serious problem.
