Counting the Days
He was photosensitive and only went out in the dark. He marked the days to the winter solstice, his favorite night, with anticipation.
In Sickness & In Health
At uni, he held her hair during hangovers. Later he held it through the morning sickness. After chemo there was no hair, so he held her hand.
Hopeful
She tied the scarf around her head. The pink color gave her cheeks a much-needed glow. She hoped the end of summer would also end her chemo.
