    Oooh, this makes my imagination run wild. Is it her lover and he lied about the needle prick so that he won’t have to be with her anymore? Or is it a child wishing to escape the wrath of his angry mom by turning her anger into worry?

    I love these stories, because we can read so much into so little. Skillfully done, @iwantanewhead!

    The emotions of both characters are very cleverly presented in this short tale. You have protrayed concern, guilt and cunning all at once.
