For Life

I sit by his bedside, waiting for some sign of life. For fourteen years I have lived thus, hanging on to hope. A faithful, wasted wife.

Terribly sad. I like how ‘wife’ at the end echoes ‘life’ earlier. Wonderful job.

A sad tale of two concurrent tragedies; You have succinctly introduced us to the husband’s plight and the wife’s despair.

Very powerful. I could see the wife, wasting away for a non-sentient husband; could feel her frustration and appreciate her loyalty. All in less than 140 characters!
